Family Day: Reporting the News
Date and Time of Event: Sunday, July 12, 2026, 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.
Step into a newsroom and experience the excitement of breaking news!
Inspired by the Museum’s special exhibition On Assignment: Dallas Times Herald 1963, this hands-on family program invites participants to explore the world of journalism together. While activities are designed especially for children ages 7–12, families of all ages are welcome.
Working together, families will write headlines, sequence photographs and design their own front page while discovering how reporters and photojournalists shaped the stories people saw in the newspaper. Each family will leave with a one-of-a-kind newspaper they created together.
